Performance reviews are often dreaded, awkward, and un-fruitful for everyone involved. We want to try a new method that will foster a better communication between employee and managers. In 2025, we will implement a plan best illustrated with a tree. The roots, or the foundation of an employees characteristics, answers the questions such as: are you a team player; are you respectful, are you motivated and efficient; thoughtful; focused; and much more.
The the trunk, branches and leaves are things you may need to do your job better such as cross-training, new skills to learn–all in order to grow your capabilities and build your performance.
Leaves falling off the tree represent things that you no longer need to do or things that you might need to shed such as cutting costs.
